Supporting the Development of Civilian Counter-Drone Capability

Countering Drones LIVEdemo forum is being convened in Geneva, Switzerland. Organised with the official support of the Department for Security and Economy, Government of Geneva, the conference will identify the essential improvements to capability and regulation. It will also be the first event to include a live demonstration of counter drone technologies, hosted on a Swiss Army training range.

Airports, nuclear sites, prisons, government buildings, stadiums and other public spaces are struggling to pre-empt the drone threat. Even as commercial counter-drone solutions emerge, there is little clarity as to how these technologies may legally be deployed within a congested civilian air space. For the first time last month, a UK passenger plane came close to colliding with multiple drones in a single flight. Proof, as if it were needed, that the ongoing boom in the global RPA market has growing implications for civilian security.
